Possum is a small marsupial native to New Zealand, where it is considered a pest. They are controlled so the large population does not destroy the ecosystem in New Zealand. Possum has a very fine undercoat, and it is this we use for the yarn. The fibres are hollow, which makes the yarn very warm. The fibres are short, just like our mink yarn, and therefore you will not find 100% Possum; instead, it is spun together with other luxury fibres, which definitely does not make it any worse.
