Mink yarn comes from mink that are gently sheared, so no mink are killed! The fibers are very soft but very short, so they are often spun together with other fibers to prevent the yarn from breaking while knitting. It can be knit with a single strand into a lovely shawl or with two strands into a cozy sweater. There is not much mink yarn on the market, so you get a truly unique product that is also hand-dyed - win win......
