Mohair is not just mohair..... mohair is hair, not wool. Therefore, the shorter the hairs are, the more it will itch — similar to if we were crew-cut. Economically, producers get more by shearing the goats often and thus yield more yarn than by letting them grow long. The longer the hairs, the more they lie flat against our skin and therefore itch less. It is not recommended for allergy sufferers and thus has a category C rating, but if you are simply sensitive, I would still recommend trying this, as it really is different. This luxury mohair runs only 350m per 50g. It becomes very thick if you knit with two strands. Therefore, for example, PetiteKnit's "Kumulus sweater" would work well with just a single strand of this mohair.
